Tom Laffey, l’Eté du Vin’s co-executive director, made an appearance on News Channel 5’s Talk of the Town on July 6, 2011 to talk about Nashville Crush and share with viewers the art of purchasing affordable wine. During his conversation with Talk of the Town anchor Meryl Rose, Laffey discussed how scary it can be to enter a wine store for the first time and what viewers could do to make their experiences easier. When you visit a wine store, make sure the wine store employees are friendly and willing to help because it will make all the difference. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Work to build a relationship with the wine store employees where they will know your preferences and be willing to make suggestions when you come in again,” said Laffey. Laffey also brought along with him some fabulous summer wines for under $20 to share with Rose and her viewers. The wines featured in the segment are the same wines that will be featured at Late Night Crush on July 16, 2011. The wines include:
Santa Cristina “Campogrande” Orvieto, Umbria 2009
