Executive Director's Note:
It is no secret to anyone that our current economic status has had an effect on the way everyone is doing business and the way resources are being allocating. Few will be affected more dramatically than charities and non-profit groups who are attempting to draw money from budgets that are being drastically cut and belts that are being significantly tightened. However, it is at times like these that the people we work for need our help the most.
As we look forward toward our next thirty years, I ask each of you to help me continue to maintain our reputation as one of the finest charity wine events in the country. As I have said before, I do not ask this of you for bragging rights or for ego. Not for greed or professional gain. I ask because for thirty years, l'Eté du Vin has committed itself to the fight against cancer. In that time we have had the ultimate privilege of forming relationships with some of the greatest, most generous people on earth as well as contributing over $15 million to organizations whose purpose is directly related to the treatment, patient care and eradication of cancer. We intend to continue that fight until future generations do not have to worry about losing their fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, wives, husbands and friends to this terrible disease.
We are making big plans for 2010. Please mark your calendars for the week(end) of June 19, 2010, as the culmination of a weeklong series of combined l'Eté du Vin events. We look to bring together the "New World Pioneers and the Old World Legends" in a way that has something for everyone. Please check back regularly to see updates on the 2010 Events and Guests of Honor.
Look for more fun and festive l'Eté du Vin events coming this Fall! Also, look for our 2010 auction and Guests of Honor announcements coming in the near future.
We thank you for your continued support of l'Eté du Vin and we look forward to seeing you in June, 2010. Together we do make a difference.
